Restricted Access Membership Program

Why are we proposing this program?

The RAM program is being proposed to aid in keeping the fire department viable in the future. By allowing 16 and 17 year olds to join this program it affords them the
opportunity to enroll in State Fire classes (BEFO and IFO). They are also eligible to apply for scholarships to aid in college education after graduation. It helps to develop a
sense of belonging and provide an opportunity to serve their community. Even if they do not stay in the Edmeston Fire District it provides a good knowledge base for them if they decide to continue in the fire service in another area that they relocate to.
